What a marvellous word – windfluchter. (And great photos) I think we might use the word windswept, but it’s not as descriptive as the German.

‚windswept‘, but it’s a different object to the action; in windswept something is done to the tree, while your translation implies, much more poetically, that the tree is fleeing in front of the wind… Thanks for your visit and ‚like‘, reciprocated with pleasure.
